Nessie The Loch Ness Monster

Ah yes, good ole Nessie … another dinosaur that somehow escaped extinction 65 million years ago, swimming silently below the depths of Loch Ness. If only she wasn’t so darned camera shy! But alas, she knows that the best way to remain a legend is to surface every once in a while and then submerge back into obscurity … much like Elvis Presley when he makes those surprise appearances at 7-11 stores during the wee hours of the morning.

The Legacy Of Bigfoot

To start off our voodoo science series we will look at a mythical creature that keeps popping its head out of the woods (literally), and yet, manages to evade capture. Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti, the abominable snowman … these are all names given to the living missing link between man and ape.

Though there are earlier stories of hairy apes, the first widely known sighting occurred in 1884. Interestingly enough, Charles Darwin, the man responsible for introducing us to the possible link between apes and men, lived between 1809 and 1882. Is it a coincidence that these sightings rise right after this man’s death? Did we find ourselves looking so hard for the missing link that we manufactured it within our own minds?
