The 100 Year Link

We all experience coincidences everyday, such as when we’re thinking of a song and it all of a sudden starts playing on the radio. Of course, some will say that it was a popular song and was due to be played, or that the radio announcer mentioned earlier it would be played and we kept that thought in the the back of our mind. Still, it haunts us when these strange events occur, and it gets even weirder when a series of coincidences occur that are just too many to ignore, such as in the case of our former US presidents – Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy.

The Exorcism Of Anneliese Michel

Are exorcisms real? Most certainly they are, as many have been performed by the Catholic church throughout countless generations. Let it be said that for those who participate in an exorcism it’s a very real event, and not some smoke and mirrors event aimed at gaining fame or notoriety. In fact, in many cases the families go into hiding, for fear of having their shame broadcast throughout the world.

The real question is … are exorcisms really needed? Better yet, are they only performed when all other routes have been exhausted?

To understand how parents and family can be pushed to this point, we’ll look into one of the most famous exorcisms. Her real name was Anneliese Michel, but you might know her as Emily Rose, which was the name given to her in a recent movie.

You Can Walk On Fire

All over the world, people walk on fire without becoming injured. Is it magic or is it some sort of a trick? Perhaps it’s the method by which it is done. One thing is for certain … Judging by how many people have done it, it would appear to be possible for any of us. But how is it done? Better yet, how is it done without injuring your feet?

We all want to believe those hot coals will burn us, and that’s why we cower in awe as others pass through. Certainly, if you stood on them long enough you would get burnt, so why should it make any difference if you walk over them? Interestingly enough, the answer for this enigma lies within science, and we’ll tell you how it works – so long as you promise in return not to use this knowledge to cause yourself harm.

The Mystery Of The Devil’s Triangle

What is the Devil’s Triangle? Well, it’s an invisible triangle drawn in the water, with its points at Bermuda, Florida, and Puerto Rico, more famously known as the Bermuda Triangle – a place where boats and planes mysteriously disappear, never to return.

Some say the Devil’s Triangle is real, while others write it off as nothing more than a myth; however, no one disagrees with the fact that many planes and boats disappear in this region of the Atlantic Ocean. The question is – why?

To be thorough, we’ll look into each commonly given explanation and try to understand how it might resolve the mystery. When you finish reading this, you might find a theory that works, and its always possible that you’ll be pulled between multiple causes. One thing is for certain – to date, there is no given theory that thoroughly explains all of the disappearances, which is why the enigma remains.

Is Life A Simulation: Part III

We can’t really take the simulation theory serious, can we? After all, we have a long geological record on Earth separating the first animals from the first humans by billions of years. We also know life started in the oceans and moved onto land, so it didn’t spontaneously appear everywhere at once. But could it be, that is what we were meant to find?

In a simulated environment, everything in existence is created within a machine. As such, that which we believe to exist is set in place to be discovered, and this is done by design. For all we know, the world might be less than a few minutes old. Memories can be created and instilled in characters, allowing us to believe we have lived for many years, when in fact we have just been born into the world.

Is Life A Simulation: Part II

Part I of this three-part journey represented an hour of lively debate over the theory of life being a simulation. Originally slated as a Voodoo Science topic, we intended to debunk the whole concept. In fact, here’s the original ending to the article.

“While we have given you much to think about, we can all take a deep breath and relax. All we see, hear, feel – everything we experience – is all very real. If it were not, would our creator allow us to ponder that possibility? Probably not, as that would go against our own programming.”

And that was the end of a decent article, meant to become filler material for a popular category we hadn’t found much meat for as of lately. But some great topics refuse to die, as did this one …

Is Life A Simulation: Part I

Back in 1999, many of us were swept off our feet by a movie called, The Matrix, which suggested the world we thought we lived in was nothing more than an elaborate computer simulation. For most of us it was a preposterous idea, but it made for a great movie. However, in recent years, more and more men of science are giving the idea some consideration.

Professor Nick Bostrom, a member of the Department of Philosophy at Oxford University, is a strong believer in this theory. And why shouldn’t he be? After all, he is a philosopher, which allows him to consider ideas the rest of us would consider to be insane. But let us not forget, Plato and Socrates were philosophers too. As such, science can spawn from thought just as easily as it can from dedicated research.
